So we went public with our project in october 2010... The amount of feedback we got was overwhelming! It seemed like every single pinball forum on the internet had some topic discussing our Bride 2.0 project. It really gave us confidence and inspiration to keep this project going!
Martin from Pinball News actually was at the Pinball Expo P-ROC seminar and had the following to say:
"I have to say, when Gerry and Adam showed the video you made during their Expo seminar the result was electrifying."
and
"Having gone to the show about a dozen times, most of the presentations are fairly predictable, but there are stand-out moments which I'll remember for ever, and the buzz when you showed it {{the Dutch Pinball video}} and the group realization that this isn't just theoretical, it's real and it's allowed something we all know and accept to be changed in truly radical ways is one such moment."
We were also contacted by Pinball News for a full-blown interview which can be found here: http://www.pinballnews.com/learn/dutchpinball/index.html
After the dust had settled Koen continued programming the Bride, mainly focusing on making the code more robust and preparing it for more rules to be added.
A nice recent addition courtesy of Gerry and guys from the PinMAME team is the ability to emulate the original ROM by PinMAME and actually play it through the P-ROC board. With help of Gerry, Koen has been able to make a Game Launcher that let's the player pick which software he wants to play.
A video of this new functionality:
We'll try to keep this blog a bit more up to date again.
But if you want more frequent updates you can follow us on Twitter as well.
This is a big development! This allows you to play your original game while developing your new version, nice for replicating rules I suppose. :)
